Spokane, WA - Kevin Pangos had 14 points, Przemek Karnowski scored 12 and No. 3 Gonzaga pulled away down the stretch to blow out Saint Marys 68-47 on Thursday night. Both teams entered the game unbeaten in the West Coast Conference and Gonzaga led just 27-21 at halftime. Pangos scored four points during a 22-2 run in the second half that pushed Gonzagas lead to 23 points with under four minutes remaining. Ponder made more plays with his legs than his arm to direct two touchdown drives and make a push for the backup quarterback job as the Minnesota Vikings beat the Houston Texans 28-0 Thursday night. Ponder completed 10 of 17 passes for 83 yards and one touchdown in the pre-season finale for both teams. He rushed eight times for 61 yards and didnt turn the ball over while playing just over two quarters. "I think they see Im white and they think Im slow," Ponder joked. "I think thats definitely one of my positives is my feet and buying extra time and getting out of the pocket if something breaks down. It just happened to work really well tonight." Head coach Leslie Frazier said he had to hold his breath a few times when Ponder took off running, especially when he was sliding head first into the defence.
